About AFA

Anant Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit organisation founded in 2023, that supports Modern and Contemporary South Asian arts practices. The foundation will focus on extending financial and institutional support across pluralistic artistic, curatorial, research-based, and scholarly practices. 

The vision of the foundation rests upon the desire to address existing gaps within the South Asian contemporary arts context through programmes that include an award for paper art, an annual curatorial symposium, residencies and a publishing vertical. We aim to create opportunities for practitioners by facilitating cultural and artistic exchange, transregional connections, and institutional collaborations with an interdisciplinary approach. The foundation strives for intellectual rigour, inclusivity, interconnectedness and encourages experimentation, critical dialogue, and alternative explorations.
