Anshu Singh

Artist | Honorourable Mention, JK Paper Award 2024

Anshu Singh completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Weaving and Textile Design from Banaras Hindu University. Her artistic journey took root in her mother’s boutique, where she was first exposed to the weavers’ community. Known for an innovative approach that merges artistic practice with traditional artisanal embroidery and weaving techniques, her practice moves between tight abstractions, bold stoic texts, visceral twists, and an unconventionality of materials. She has participated in exhibitions including Fault Lines at Conflictorium Museum, Ahmedabad (2023), the India Art Fair with Art and Soul Foundation, Mumbai (2023), and the 13th edition of the Bamako Encounters African Biennale of Photography (2022). She is the recipient of the Young Artist Scholarship from the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (2014-2015).
