B. V. Suresh

Artist & Educator

B.V. Suresh trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University of Baroda, before completing an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London (1987). He currently teaches at the Department of Fine Arts, S.N. School, University of Hyderabad. His practice spans painting, video, and installation, drawing on a diverse visual vocabulary that includes comic books, hoardings, newspapers and mass media imagery to probe questions of history, narration and everyday visual culture. He has exhibited at Kochi Muziris Biennale, Serendipity Arts Festival, Vadehra Art Gallery and internationally at venues in Kazakhstan, South Africa and Japan. He is the recipient of the Karnataka State Lalit Kala Academy Award, the Inlaks Scholarship, a Senior Fellowship from the Government of India, and the Bharat Bhavan National Award.
