Ritu Sethi
Founder-Trustee of Craft Revival Trust and Editor of Global InCH
Dr Ritu Sethi is editor of Global InCH, the online international journal of Living Heritage, and oversees the Asia InCH Encyclopaedia, globally recognized as the leading repository of online knowledge on the traditional arts, crafts, textiles and its practitioners across South Asia. Ritu’s research interests lie in examining the cultural history of the arts and crafts and textiles — their contemporary continuities, links to design, fashion, and the everyday, and the impact of policy. She has authored and edited several publications including ‘Embroidering Futures – Repurposing the Kantha’, ‘Painters, Poets, Performers – The Patuas of Bengal’; ‘Designers Meet Artisans – A Practical Guide’ (translated into Spanish and French); ‘Handmade for the 21st Century – Safeguarding Traditional Indian Textiles’. Founder-trustee of the Craft Revival Trust and Director, League of Artisans, UK, Ritu currently serves on several advisory boards on culture and policy including in Japan and Argentina. In India she serves on the Intangible Cultural Heritage committee, Ministry of Culture; National Crafts Museum and Hast Kala Academy, Government of India; and Asia Society – Arts and Culture (South Asia).
