Sandeep Suneriya

Sandeep Suneriya completed a Masters in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Arts, The M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, and a Diploma in Drawing and Painting from Priyadarshini Fine Art College, Surat, Gujarat. His works engage materially with train tickets and graphite drawings on paper. Born in Surat, his experiments with ink and paper have remained committed to an art of social purpose and historical change,  inspired by his everyday surroundings and the lives of those around him, constantly making visible the many lives of the city, centred or otherwise. His practice traces a remarkable line between the political and the aesthetic: concerned with the rules by which society lives — who is allowed to travel, where one can eat — personal questions that implicate as well as instigate.
