Sheila Makhijani
Artist
Sheila Makhijani holds a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts from the College of Art, New Delhi (1984 and 1988), and a diploma from Kanazawa Bijutsu Kogei Daigaku, Japan (1992–93). For over four decades she has pursued a singular, committed engagement with abstraction — working in oil, gouache, dry pastel and acrylic. Her work is held in major collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Queensland Art Gallery, Australia; and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, New Delhi. She is represented by Talwar Gallery, New York and New Delhi.
